According to Stephanie Cole, Coordinator of the Kansas Sierra Club, it will be very important that we utilize the public participation opportunities (hearings & comment period) to the max! Sunflower does not yet have a permit for this project, there is new information that suggests the power from Holcomb II isn’t needed by Tri-State in Colo, who is set to get most of the electricity, and current conditions make coal plant development highly challenging with increased environmental regulations expected, limited financing, and low energy demand.
