Welcome to the Sustainable Sanctuary Coalition
of Greater Kansas City
We partner with, encourage, and assist faith groups to preach, teach, model, and advocate for sustainable living and ecological justice for all creation.

“We cannot have peace on the Earth unless we also have peace with the Earth”
~Julia “Butterfly” Hill, an environmental activist, author, and motivational speaker best known for living in a 180-foot-tall, 1500-year-old California Redwood tree for 2 years to prevent loggers from cutting it down
- We’d like to assist you and your congregation in becoming better stewards of God’s Earth.
- We offer a variety of quality programs that help faith groups move forward in Earth care.
- We’ve also compiled helpful ideas for worship, education, action, and greening your facility, which you can find under the Resources link.
